How I Booked 14 Meetings in One Week Targeting DoD Contractors

The Challenge

Our pipeline for the defense vertical had dried up after a quarter of inconsistent outreach. Leadership set a target of 10 meetings per week, but the team was averaging four. I decided to run a personal blitz week to prove a new approach could work at scale.

Defense contractors are notoriously hard to reach. Most decision-makers ignore cold emails and gatekeepers are well-trained. I needed a message that would cut through the noise and land on the right desks.

The Approach

I built a list of 120 CMMC-seeking contractors from the SPRS database cross-referenced with Sam.gov contract awards. For each company I identified the CISO, IT Director, and Compliance Officer. My outreach sequence led with a subject line referencing their specific CMMC level requirement and the compliance gap passwordless authentication could fill.

I also recorded 30-second personalized video messages for the top 40 targets, walking through how FIDO2 keys mapped to CMMC Level 2 controls. The combination of personalized video, compliance-specific copy, and multi-threaded outreach to three stakeholders per account dramatically increased response rates.

The Result

By Friday I had booked 14 qualified meetings with defense contractors ranging from 50-person shops to a $2B prime. Six of those meetings converted to opportunities within 30 days, generating $1.8M in pipeline. The blitz campaign template was adopted by the entire inside sales team the following quarter.
